restructure the management of the company. It is hoped that they will help communications between the company and customers.
Ivor James becomes general sales manager with responsibility for general home trade business. Mr James, 51, moves to his new post from being the company's marketing manager.
New product manager is Norman Church, who takes control of the distribution and consultancy side. He was previously distribution manager. Alastair Gardner becomes controller of the Freightliners deep sea services, after being a senior maritime sales executive.
Former marketing executive Stan Judd becomes controller of European services, moving from the company headquarters, while Doug Barker takes over the Irish services. He was formerly a product officer for Freightliners.
Jeff Percival becomes product development manager, moving from train catering, where he was product manager of Travellers Fare.
Bill Collins is the new director and general manager of Pickfords Tank Haulage. He comes from the ready-mixed concrete industry and will be based at Pickfords' head office at Stroud.
New managing director of Seatrain UK is George Gill, who returns to the UK after 12 months as vice-president (operations) with Seatrain Europa b.v. in Rotterdam.
Pickfords have appointed Phillip Steer as manager of their Yeovil branch. He moves from Penzance, where he was also in charge.
New manager of Newport (Gwent) transport department is George Cottham, who takes over from Frank Thorp, who is retiring after 13 years as manager.
Mr Cottham moves from Merseyside, where he was manager of St Helens district of Merseyside PTE.
Crosville's new assistant divisional manager for South East Cheshire is Gordon Dodd. He left Australia's largest coach operator to take the job.
Previously with Crosville as a traffic clerk, he held several jobs within National Bus companies and in Africa before moving to Australia. Bob Auckland has joine Transfleet Services as the' truck rental manager for th Yorkshire region, based i Leeds. Mr Auckland is former Atkinson Vehicle apprentice of the year and is member of the Wakefiel Centre of the IRTE.
