Kirsty, Sarah, Damian, Comma, Vikki and Stacey always knew their dad was the best, but now it's official. Glen Leatham, a former longdistance lorry driver from Leeds. was recently named Single Dad of the Year, Glen gave up work to be taught how to cook by his wife, Angie, when she was diagnosed as having an inoperable brain turnout.. Angie died in 1992 and since then Glen has taken care of the house and their kids. He was nominated for the £3,000 award by daughter Vikki, 12, in a nationwide competition organised by That's Lifelmagazine.
Vikki was clearly delighted by this accolade. "He never has anything for himself because he spends all his money on us," she says. "He's a brilliant dad." Well, I reckon that's the highest commendation of all.
