Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Remember when bobbies patrolled on bikes? The Hawk does. (Surely they were peelers in your day9—Ed.) Well, you see before you three London rozzers who still know their way around a pair of handle bars and front forks. And to prove it, on 5 September they will be setting out on a 14-day trek to pedal 950 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for the special care baby unit at Farnborough Hospital in Kent.

DC Jerry Pickers (centre), from the stolen vehicle unit at Haverstock Hill police station in North London, will be accompanied by DC Andy Clark (left) and PC James Donnett (right) from Greenwich police.

The lads are planning to raise enough cash to buy a Bilirubin Photo Therapy Unit, which is used to treat sick or premature babies with jaundice. "About 90% of babies born before they are due get jaundice and, if it is not treated, it can be fatal," says DC Pickers. "What we are buying will save lives."

Anyone wishing to sponsor the officers should write to DC Pickers at the Organised Crime Group, Stolen Vehicle Unit, Haverstock Hill, London NW3 2BN, phone 020 7230 7754.
