• Multipart Distribution, the former parts division of Leyland Daf has been bought by truck retail and contract hire firm Lex Services for £73m—just two years after a part management buyout for £50m.

The deal, which includes the assumption of £1 2m of debts, came as Lex announced interim pre-tax profits of £22m, which were below City expectations Multipart has an exclusive contract until 2003 with Daf Trucks, Leyland Daf and LDV to supply parts to all 60 truck and 107 LDV dealers.
