• Ukraine truck manufacturer Kraz has signed a deal with Cummins for the supply of Euro-1 C-series engines. The Darlington-built 8.3-litre engine will be fitted to the Kraz 6510 dump-truck. Kraz builds on/off-road dump trucks, which are mostly 6x4 and 6x6 chassis.

• Universal Vehicle Group's Premia ambulance body made its debut last weekend on an LDV chassis at Ambex in Harrogate. The Premia was one of Four exhibits on the WV stand at Harrogate. A full report on Ambex will appear in next week's CM. LDV has also won its third order in 12 months From the RAF, this time for 100 dropside crewcab 400 vehicles. The three orders are worth £7.5 million at showroom prices. The latest batch will be delivered over the next Five months.

• Scania is claiming heavy truck market leadership in Brazil. The company has sold 3,688 heavy trucks in the first half year, giving it a 34% share of the Brazilian market.

• Aluminium wheel manufacturer Alcoa will build a factory in Europe to manufacture truck wheels. Currently, Alcoa sources its aluminium wheels From the US. The company will invest around £19 million in the plant.
