Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LTHOUGH anxiety about the -rt transfer of vehicles from C-hiring margins to A and B licences was expressed at last week's meeting of the national executive committee of the Road Haulage Association, no definite action was decided on. The Association are, however, looking into possible lines of action in the light of recent decisions arrived at by the Transport Tribunal.

The committee were considering a resolution by the licensing committee which suggested that the matter was, at this stage, more for individual members to deal with.

A request from the East Midland Area that representations should be made to the Minister of Transport for a change in the law on Axle weights (The Commercial Motor last week) was referred to the vehicle committee. Because of the holidays, this question is not likely to receive attention before September.

In a letter to the Association, the Minister stated that he did not feel that the closing of the offices of Licensing Authorities on Saturday mornings would cause hardship. Until cases of hardship were known, he did not intend to take any action.

A number of resolutions for the Association's annual conference in October was approved in principle. AM
