Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

V Hungary has arranged to produce two types of passenger vehicle, which will be built in the Ikarus factory at Budapest. The foundations for these models were laid down during the immediate post-war Three Year Plan, when the policy of fitting bus bodies to goods chassis was discontinued and designs introduced for building integralconstruction passenger vehicles.

The two models will be assembled with mass produced components. Basically, there are two body styles, one for 27-30 seated and 18 standing passengers, and a larger version which, as a bus, will have accommodation for 45 seated passengers, or in de-luxe coach form, for 31 people,

The mechanical design is conventional, with a vertical engine and fivespeed gearbox in front of the axle, and the steering arranged for forward control.

Two engines are being produced—a four-cylindered unit developing 85 b.b.p. at 2,200 r.p.m. for the smaller bus. and a six-cvlindered direct-injection unit for the coach. They have interchangeable pistons, heads and other component parts.

The radiator, engine, clutch and gearbox are carried on a sub-frame mounted on rollers for ease of removal. Ready for the road, the smaller vehicle weighs 4i tons, The frame is formed from an allwelded light-steel box-section structure with cross-bracing between the pillars covered by light-alloy panels. Both buses have a large loading platform at the rear and a central exit, the doors being pneumatically controlled. The smaller bus has hydraulically operated brakes with air assistance, whilst the larger vehicle has air-pressure-assisted braking.

The intended output has not been disclosed, but the sales organization is making every effort to obtain export orders. Wheclbases, overall dimensions and refinements such as beating and ventilating arrangements have not been finally decided, so that it seems that Hungary is waiting to find out the requirements of overseas users.
