We are informed that the Provincial Motor Cab Co., Ltd., is to start. a service of cabs in Bolton with ten machines this week.

The Proprietors and the Report.

At a meeting of the Executive Couneil of the London Motor Cab Proprietors Association Ltd., held on Tuesday afternoon, it was resolved that the interests of the motoreab industry would be so adversely affected if the recommendations contained in the report .4 the Departmental Committee of inquiry on taxicab fares were adopted, that it was decided at once to call a general meeting of the members of the association, at which meeting the course to be taken by the proprietors will oe definitely decided upon.

The election of the president and the executive council of the London Cab Drivers' Trade Union for 1911 took place at the head office, 39, aerrard Street, on the 27th and 2Stli ult. Of the 4,300 ballot papers that were sent out. 2,545 were returned. Mr. A. Smith was elected president with 2,055 votes. This will he his seventh year in office. The only other candidate for presidency was Mr. Sam Michaels, a moloreab driver, who received 490 leu.es. The 12 successful candidates for the Executive Council were :Messrs. a J. Davies (" W. and G." Co.). 11. Jenkins, F. White. B. Jacobs (all of G.M.C. Co.), M. Frankenburg (Waterloo Co.), L. Straus (horsed-cab driver), C. Green (National Co.), C. Britton ("W. and G." Co.), A. Bryant t(l.M.C. Co.. Farm Lane), W. A. Bryant (F.I.A.T. Co.). IL J. HeasP1wood (Unic cab), and H. Allen (" W. and G." Co.).

The Metropolitan Auto-Cab Co., Ltd., 210, Lapel House, 62, New Broad Street, E.C., has been wound up compulsorily, as the result of a petition before Mr. Justice Neville.

The "W. and G. Outing.

The first" W. and G." annual outing, this year to Great Yarmouth, took place on Saturday last. We are informed that 1,300 of the drivers and staff boarded the special trains at Liverpool Street at 6.30 ant. The engines of the trains were decorated with a facsimile of the well-known " W. and G." monogram and other devices. On arrival at Great Yarmouth, lunch for the management, the staff and th:! drivers was served at Goode's Hotel ; the fitters, washers and cleaners sat down at the Aquarium. Mr. W. du Cros presided. and he was assisted by Messrs. Fellowes, Turpin and Cockett. There were no speeches.

During the day the " W. and G." water-polo team met a team consisting of Yarmouth tradesmen, and Mill by one goal one try to one goal. Goodwood Races and the Motor..

Goodwood meeting lots, on the whole, been disappointing to those who applied for and obtained the temporary local hackney-carriage licences. in addition to the 5s. licences granted by the Chichester Council, a large number of privilege tickets to use the L.B. and S.C.R. station was issued at the cost of 10s. each. We are informed that these permits were sought for over 200 London cabs. There were also at Chichester motorcabs from Brighton, Worthing and Bognor. The General Motor Cab Co., Ltd., sent down small fleets from Brixton, Farm Lane and Chiswick, as well as a stock of spare tires and parts and a staff of fitters and washers. Another London proprietor took down four cabs with his London staff. One proprietor, who sent down a small fleet of Unics, . charged his drivers £7 10s. per cab for the six days. The charge from the station to the course was 5s. per passenger, the distance being about six miles.
