Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hatcher Components has added a further safety product to its range of ancillary truck equipment, for guarding against the loosening of wheel nuts.

The Safe Wheel is a simple nut retaining ring produced from a strong and resilient plastic material which is recyclable yet insensitive to temperature fluctuations.

The device is said to help keep wheel nuts fixed irrespective of load and, as an added advantage, protects cyclists and pedestrians from protruding nuts on rotating wheels.

Safe Wheel is available in black or silver and is said to be easy to fit and remove. It is designed to fit European standard 10-stud wheels and is to be made available soon in a fully covered (hub cap-style) version. The retaining ring is tapped on to the wheel nuts and the splined cavities of the cups conform to the nuts regardless of their position, preventing rotation. A special pry bar is supplied for ring removal when required.
