Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CONTRACT HIRE and rental company Alltruck is achieving more competitive prices and getting 15% better residual values by remarketing its own trucks rather than using a broker.

Steve Stanton, sales director, says fleet replacement has seen the Leicesterbased firm take charge of its disposal process through its Nottingham site. “We are seeing about a 15% increase by cutting out the broker, while being able to offer a better price to the end user. They also have the confidence of knowing that the vehicle has been serviced by Alltruck throughout its history,” he says.

In the past 12 months the company has bought Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor rigids with Bevan21 bodies, as well as Iveco Stralis and Daf XF105 tractors, which has helped grow the rental fleet to more than 1,550 vehicles.

Procurement has been brought forward ahead of Euro-6 which comes into force on 1 January 2014 and will bring down the average age of the rolling stock to approximately 19 months. ■
