Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS SO PLEASED to read your story on Jack Richards (CM 3 May). I had the pleasure of knowing him 40 years ago when he was in Huddenham.

We (Marshall Cambs) used to supply him with Leyland Boxers. They were 16-ton, four-wheelers and, apart from the cab comfort, their specification would stand up in today’s market.

Jack knew exactly what he wanted and we put him among the great names in East Anglian road haulage, such as Knowles, Turners, Williams, and the Webbs; people who contributed a lot to the wealth of East Anglia.

On one occasion I invited him to our training school and he gave an excellent presentation to the service, parts and sales staff, detailing what he ex pected from his local dealer.

I had a large piece of land where I used to grow gooseberries. I told Jack I could not get a decent price for them. That evening he sent a truck to my house and we loaded three tons. He sent them to Nottingham market and they fetched a very good price.

Jack was very highly thought of locally. When he moved to Fakenham he invited all his suppliers (Sellars and Batty, Peterborough Engineering, Scammel and Marshall) to a lunch party in his new warehouse.

I wish him well for the future.
