Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

North East Truck & Van has added another marque to its portfolio by winning the Hino franchise. Kevin Swallow reports.

Truck manufacturer Hino is to be represented in the North-East by North EastTruck &Van (NETV), trading under the name of Haverton Trucks.

NETV's portfolio already includes the Fiat, Iveco, MAN-ERF arid LDV brands.

Managing director Sandy McDonald feels that Hino's arrival in the UK has been one of the major talking points of the past 18 months, generating a lot of interest among operators in his region.

"I believe that the Hino franchise is the perfect complement to our long-established relationship with Iveco, which spans our complete network of eight dealerships, and to our newly added MAN-ERF franchise in Carlisle,he adds. HavertonTrucks will offer sales and aftersales to Hino customers from its flagship dealership in Billingham, Co Durham, supported by an authorised service franchise at its B laydon, Gateshead site.

The Hino territory for Haverton Trucks runs from north of Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish Borders down to York. Initially Haverton will supply 26 and 32-tonne rigids and tractors, before expanding to offer 5.5,6.5, 7.5, and 18-tonners.

NETV's relationship with Hino began after the manufacturer's launch at the CV Show last year when NETV's engineering division was appointed to work on projects for Nino dealers across the country, carrying out drawbar conversions and chassis modifications. •
