Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• There was plenty to attract recovery operators at Manheim's recent auction in Colchester.

A clutch of Mercedes-Benz Atego 815 7.5-tonners with beavertail bodies, ramps and winches were among the vehicles that came under the hammer. They were entered by a finance house and fetched fro ,000-r r,o oo apiece.

"Some r9 95 ERE eight-wheelers with insulated alloy tipper bodies fetched good money too," reports Jeremy Martell, national HGV and plant manager for Manheim Europe. One went for £12,250, while the other went for £12,750."

About 70% of the 170 entries found buyers.

Two truck manufacturers are about to commit to Manheim's online auction service which was launched at the British Commercial Vehicle Show earlier this year, says Martell. "You can look at the specification and mileage of the used vehicks up for sale over the Internet, and examine external and internal pictures," he explains. "A reserve is set by ourselves and the manufacturers, but is not revealed.

"If you like the vehicle you can bid by e-mail, and you'll receive an e-mail back to tell you if your bid has been successful or not. Your truck can be delivered to you within 24 hours."

Trucks that fail to reach their reserve after a week or two will be sold in a conventional auction.
