Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

No haulier is safe from the current economic climate to be found in the road haulage industry, and the recent problems that Eddie Stobart has experienced underline this. As an interested observer and ex-employee of the industry I always feel that the small haulier is more susceptible to changes in the economy, especially when they are in a downturn and if you specialise in the loads that you haul. However, Stobarts is clearly not one of these and the company's discomfort can only point to a tough time ahead for many others.

Maybe he is 'streamlining' or needs the cash to go into other areas—but when the big boys start to choke, it's worrying for the little 'uns. I wish you all well in a difficult industry.

Calum Ness, Pitlochry, Perth and Kinross.
