Just before I leave the topic of UTO let me throw in one more mouthwatering example-this time from Australia. Express Freight Co. is running scheduled interstate services between leading cities with five-axle 20ton-payload attics drawn by Kenworth tractive units which are averaging 20,000 miles a month! That's what you call utilization. And they tell me that, having budgeted 2.5d per mile for maintenance, they have in fact built up a useful reserve.
