ATRADING loss of 006,736 for 1962 is reported by the Ulster Transport Authority in its fourteenth annual report. This was a deteriorationOn the previous year of .£59,522. The Authority is especially disappointed with the road passenger operations. At the beginning of the year regular bus services were operated over 2,766 route miles. With the provisicin of services over an additional four miles and the withdrawal of services over 19 miles, the total route mileage was reduced to 2,751.

There was a small expansion in the number of extended talks 'operated in Northern Irelandby cross-channel firms who in some cases hire coaches from the Authority. and in other cases by agreement operate their own coaches. Passenger bookings on these tours totalled 2,519 compared with 2,369 in 1961.
