SURREY POLICEARE appealing for witnesses after a truck driver was assaulted during an altercation at Clackett Lane Services on the M25.

The attack happened at around 1.45pm on 4 March as the Italian driver attempted to drive his vehicle from the truck park to the petrol station on the westbound M25.

His exit was blocked by a white truck with a red cab, so the victim sounded his horn. Eventually the driver of the truck returned from the petrol station shop and, following an argument, punched the victim in the head several times. The victim then tried to prevent his assailant driving away when a second offender hit the victim with a broom handle.

The first offender is described as a white male, with short hair, of slim build, average height, and aged around 25. The second offender is described as a white male, possibly wearing a hat. fatter than average, of average height, aged around 27 years. and wearing a black jacket.

Sgt Clive Davies, who is investigating the crime, says: "This was a very nasty attack which left the victim with serious injuries. At one point it was feared he would lose the sight in one of his eyes, although he is now recovering well.

"If anyone was there and saw what happened, or perhaps was also blocked in by the lorry, they should contact us."
