Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

UNIGATE has announced a pretax profit of E38.3m for the year ended March 31, 1982. This compares with £38m for the previous year.

Turnover was fl ,504.4m, compared with f1,347.7m for 1981.

In giving the financial results, Unigate chairman John Clement said the Wincanton group had achieved "excellent growth", and its contract operations are continuing to expand.

However, pre-tax profits were badly hit. The main reason was a major setback in the company's meat processing businesses and the terrible winter weather, Mr Clement explained.
