Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FRENCH-MADE, British-developed rA system for automatic chassis lubrication claimed to be "economical and completely foolproof" was displayed for the first time at the Royal Lancashire Show at Blackpool this week.

Made in Saumur, France, the Mecafluid system, already used extensively on heavy machinery throughout the world. has been developed for vehicles by The Grease Appliance Co. Ltd., of Stockport.

Gilbraith Commercials Ltd., of Hyndburn Road, Accrington, have been appointed distributors for the system as applied to commercial vehicles. They plan to appoint 40 U.K. agents soon.

Two versions of the Mecafluid system are produced. Suitable for four-wheelers (including tippers) with up to 50 lubrication points, there is a unit operated by air• pressure costing about £100 when fitted; for more lubrication points an electric pump is fitted in the cab and this system, recommended for sixor eightwheelers, with as many greasing points as the user demands, would cost £160 for an 80-point unit.

There is said to be no limit to the number of greasing points which ma),. be supplied on the electric pump system –Las more points are fitted the pump (which has an output of 30 c.c. per minute) simply runs for a longer period to build up the necessary pressure of 200 psi. On both versions, a trip working from the speedometer cable controls the shots, completing an electrical circuit every 30 miles. In addition the driver can add shots at will.

Nylon tubing in in diameter is used for the Main artery and h in. for the feeder tubes which connect the greasing points via two-, fouror six-unit valves.

The pump reservoir, mounted in the cab, holds approximately four pints.

Already the Mecafluid system has been tested on vehicles and is guaranteed for 12 months. Two important points: one broken feed pipe will not affect the rest of the system; it can also be used to lubricate trailers, the feed link being completed when the tractive unit is coupled.
