• Charles Alexander, the Transport Development Group fish distribution subsidiary, is to operate the national distribution service from Humber ports, ousting BRS who ran a contract for the former distributor, UK Fish.
The drop in volumes of fish coming through the ports and stringent EC hygiene regulations has led to the decision to use a third party distributor, says Alexander, which runs 180 vehicles and nine depots throughout the UK.
The move boosts Alexander's Humber business by 50%.
