• new code of practice for the transport of edible oils and fats has been adopted by the Seed Crushers and Oil Processors Association (SCOPA).
The code's main requirement is that all edible oils and fats should be transported in stainless steel tanks dedicated to moving foodstuffs, and a record of previous loads and tank cleaning must be kept.
Vehicles participating in the scheme will carry the SCOPA name and registration number.
