• I wish to put the other side of the story regarding the misconception the general

public has of lorry drivers.

During the weekend of 8-9 December, when the Ail was blocked in both directions because of the very heavy snow, I opened my truckstop at Junction 23 for the night.

Although there was only one night watchman on duty I left the whole area in the charge of the lorry drivers.

I supplied some food; someone else supplied a generator and someone produced something to drink. A good time, under the circumstances, was had by all.

The following morning I found that the kitchen, dining area and toilets were left spotlessly clean.

I am proud to be associated with the kind of men at the truckstop that night and wish to say thank you to all those concerned.

Alan Sherwood, Junction 23 Lon.); Park, Shepshed, Leicestershire.
