• Truckrent, part of the Hartwell Group, is to close its remaining four spot rental depots and dispose of 150 CVs.
The move marks the end of the road for Truckrent's shortterm rental business, following the closures of seven sites last August. The spot rental business has not picked up, says Captain Luisu of Hartwell, who
took over from former CV division managing director Peter Dun-ant at Peterborough, Lincoln, Ipswich and Leicester.
The closures are due to be completed by the end of February.
Staff will be redeployed in Hartwell's contract hire business, which is still seeking a buyer, adds Luisu.
