• Nine drivers at the Collinson Group lost their jobs last week when the receiver was called into the Bristol-based ceramics distributor — and more jobs are at risk.
The group comprises four companies with 20 vehicles based at seven depots across the UK. Most of the vehicles operate for the Collinson Ceramics division.
Receiver Touche Ross is keeping the group trading while a buyer is sought.
Collinson, the UK's secondlargest ceramics distributor and wholesaler, has been hit hard by the downturn in the building trade.
Bristol depot manager David Frost says that he is trying to run his four trucks as normal, but as his drivers have been dismissed he is having to get behind the wheel himself
