Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The growth of Tridon Serflex in the UK dates from 1973 in a converted mill in Stockport. The company sold hose clips made in Canada and France, followed the newly developed plastic wiper blades from Canada. Today the range also includes thermostats, radiator caps, fuel and washer pumps, fuel filters, hose clips (750 million produced world wide) and flasher units.

Today the UK operation is part of a European concept which includes two manufacturing companies in France, as well as marketing/distribution in Denmark, France, Sweden and West Germany.

The company became a domestic manufacturer this year with the acquisition of the assets of Clarred Engineering and Fenter, two well known hose clip manufacturers, which were combined to form Regent Fastenings, as subsidiary of Tridon Serflex, based in Swinton. This is a formidable presence in the components aftermarket, and managing director Doug Harrison forecasts it is going to grow within Screw assembly on the dimpling machine at Tridotes Regent Fastenings plant manufacturing BS kite-marked worm-drive hose clips. the next 12 months.

Tridon's view is that automotive parts packaging for too long has been dull and unhelpful. Its new packs have slide blisters, "helpful hints" instruction leaflets and vehicle data on appropriate ranges. The trade benefits from buttressed cards and cattoned products with comprehensive application guides and cross-reference material for motor factors and garages.
