• A British-developed fire resistant thread is at the heat of a new product — Dufelt — from Diplomat Technic°.
A traditional foam and moquette covered seat will burn fiercely if subjected to outside flames in an accident, but with the Dufelt layer between outer covering and foam, it is claimed that the flames just die out.
Dufelt is the product of a joint venture between Britain's Courtaulds and a French com
pany called Duflot. Courtauld makes the thread which is the woven into material by Duflo. It is already being used i France for aircraft, trains an other transport. Diplomz Technico is the sole distributc to the UK motor and rail ir dustries.
