A NEW SYSTEM on annual hgv tests is being phased in over the next three months, the DoE hopes to have it fully operational by May.
Applications for tests should still be sent to the Goods Vehicle Centre, Swansea, but on revised forms. These are available from the usual sources and can be distinguished from the old forms by the letter "L" after the number at the bottom centre of the front of the application form.
When receipt of the fee has been recorded the applications will be sent to the station chosen by the applicant and an appointment made. Queries will be dealt with at local testing stations instead of through the Goods Vehicle Centre. This change, which has been discussed with trade associations, is designed to increase flexibility and improve customer service.
