Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WALLACE Arnold has been granted permission by the EEC to run a trunk coach route from London to Rome.

Other routes in Europe may link in with this service later to form a Greyhound style express coach network in Europe.

As the route from Italy lies entirely within the EEC, this licence was granted without reference to the British Traffic Commissioners.

Other Wallace Arnold applications to run to Moscow, Vienna, Copenhagen and Istanbul are at present tied up in the British Traffic Courts because of opposition from National Travel and British Rail.

Wallace Arnold will start weekly operations to Rome on April 1, 1977, and run through to October. This will be in conjunction with French operator VIA and S1TA of Florence.

Wallace Arnold operations director Geoffrey Steele told CM that he expected no problems with French and Italian coaches running through to Britain.
