Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QPECIAL aluminium containers are

employed by Ward and Goldstone Ltd., Frederick Road, Pendleton, Salford 6, Lanes, for the carriage of Volex electrical goods. The containers, which were supplied by Pembro Ltd., Victoria Street, Redditch, Worcs, have angle-iron framing and are 5 ft. high, with a width and length of 3 ft. 3 in. They are transferred to the road vehicles by fork-lift truck at the factory after pre-loading in the works with loose or cartonized goods.

Fork-lift handling is facilitated by mounting the containers on runners and hooks at roof level provide for handling by overhead hoist. Up to 10 containers can be loaded on a standard 7-ton

vehicle such as the Ford platform lorry shown in the photograph.

Located on the vehicle facing outwards, the containers may be unloaded selectively at the customers' premises. The containers are divided into an upper and lower section (the snelf of the upper compartment is removable) to which access is gained through lockable upwardopening and side-opening doors respectively, the doors being fully sealed. Sixty containers are employed by the operators in conjunction with three vehicles.

In addition to ease of handling and extended availability in the factory for loading, notable advantages of employing containers of this type include elimination of pilferage. Moreover, the multiplication of compartments facilitates documentation and selection.
