THE Chancellor of the Exchequer would consicler "the incidence of the duty on hydrocarbon oils" in his general review of taxation before the Budget. This was as far as Mr. John Diamond, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, 'would go when he was asked by Mr. David Steel (Liberal, Roxburgh, Selkirk and Peebles) to review the current high tax on bus fuel oil, in view of the rising costs of public transport.
