Imperial-Eastman has introduced a powered version of the Spirastrip hydraulic hose-skiving machine. The Powerstrip uses an electric motor (single or three-phase) to rotate a pair of knife edges around the hose before swaging. It is supplied complete with mandrels and collars for cutting all hoses between 0.375in.
and 21n. diameter. It will, claims the company, skive all types of hose including ultra high-pressure multispiral.
The Powerstrip unit measures 21in. by 12in. by 11in. and is foot pedal operated. Price: £140.
