Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Hydrocarbon Solvents Association is the name of a new trade association which has been formed by suppliers and producers; it intends to make representations to government departments, EEC committees and trade associations on matters concerning the use of hydrocarbon solvents.

The matters arising will include flashpoint regulations and regulations for handling solvents in road tankers. The first general meeting has been arranged for October 10 and 11 at the Alveston Manor Hotel, Stratford on Avon. when the guest speaker will be Christopher Tugendhat MP. Several papers of technical interest will also be presented.

Members of the executive committee are:— Christopher Banner (Samuel Banner and Co Ltd), Keith Darby (Shell Chemicals Ltd), Frank Downes (Shell-Mex and BP Ltd), Kenneth Skelton (Gelpke and Bate Ltd), David Spivey (Esso Chemicals Ltd). and Geoffrey Wernham (BP Chemicals International Ltd).
