Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the 90P6

I refer to V. F. Sharp's letter "Gaps in the UK market," (CM, September 16) While agreeing that there may appear to be some gaps in the UK light commercial vehicles market, it should be remembered that plugging every conceivable gap would involve producing hundreds of additional model variations. And as many of the gaps are in low sales volume areas, this could be uneconomical.

Growing numbers of people, including ice cream suppliers, are now turning to the Leyland Sherpa range, which, incidentally, won a major award at the ice cream fair.

The Sherpa range consists of four models with nominal payloads of between 13 cwts and 22 cwts. With a track of less than 1.5 metres, the Sherpa is suitable for most narrow roadways, yet its feet are wide enough apart to provide a stable foothold even in crosswinds. It is, of course, more spacious than either of the imported competitors referred to in the letter.

All Sherpas are also backed by Britain's most comprehensive after-sales service operation, and Supercover, a warranty giving 12 months' unlimited mileage cover which can be extended to two years. HOWARD G-JONES, Technical Press Officer, Leyland Cars.
