Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BRITISH companies seeking to expand their export trade must send, overseas, men who can stand up to technical examination, and who are capable of giving on-the-spot decisions. This is the view of Mr. Ewart Guy, director of Guy Motors, Ltd„ and the Sunbeam Trolleybus Co., Ltd., after having made a seven-Month survey of transport conditions and needs in the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

"There is no doubt that, particularly in Australia, the provision of passenger transport is priority No 1," he said. "The market for British vehicles is there, and the good will towards British goods of all sorts is there, but they have got to be sold. The Commonwealth's shortage of dollars means :hat Bnitish manufacturer have a great opportunity "Delivery and ?rice: are the ruling factors In any discussion with potential customers, and my experience is that not enough is being said and done on the spot to explain why British-made goods, at higher prices than those offered by foreign competitors, are still the best investment in the long run."

Mr. Guy's view was that British commercial-vehicle makers had two years in which to establish their products in markets which had hitherto been virtually Amtrican strongholds. During that time it was necessary to convince distributors agents and users that buying British was sound common sense.
