Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NAIDDLESBROUGH'S 360 municipal iv.' busmen, who refused to work on Saturday 'afternoons because the transport committee would not include them in the terms, of the Cameron 'award, have won their claim.

The award allowed 7d. an hour extra in those undertakings working a sixday week. Middlesbrough operates an 11-day fortnight of 88 hours and the .men's union agreed that the undertaking did not come within the terms of the award. It was suggested, however, that the schedules should be altered.

This view was supported by the union and opposed by the transport committee. The issue went to arbitration, when the men's case was rejected.

Now the' transport committee has reconsidered the matter and Aid. E. Hardford, chairman, has announced that the men have won their claim. The decision has still to be confirmed by Middlesbrough Town Council.
