Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Within the next 12 months hauliers and police could be using mouth swabs to check drivers for illegal drugs. A prototype of the swab could be available within six months and the finished product should be ready by this time next year says its inventor, Oxfordshirebased Cozart Bioscience.

The device will be able to indicate whether drivers have taken one of 10 prohibited drugs, including cannabis, ecstasy, cocaine and amphetamines

The only method of testing at present is for suspected drivers to take a blood or urine test at a police station.
