• of the _company, that if the licences were granted the vehicles would be deleted
from the present licence held by the company, which covers 13 vehicles.
The Licensing Authority, Mr, John Else, said, "This is a very unusual applica tion. What the applicant is seeking to do is to break down. a business of some 13 vehicles into its original company and 12 smaller companies. . In law there is . nothing to stop this. " I have to be satisfied that there is a live business in respect of each of the .• vehicles and each of the companies which . is being formed to manage it. "I think it would be safer to make a quick check on the records of the vehicles
for one month—any month the company wishes to choose."' He added that if the inspection as satisfactory in respect of
the materials carried and their destinations, there would be no need for another public inquiry and the matter could be speedily settled. A director of Oldbury Transport and each of the 12 new companies, Mr. Roy

for the measures being taken was previous -driver trouble. There was also some precaution being taken against any future . political interference in the haulage industry, but that was a minor consideration. . Autoglen Transport Ltd., Clancarrier Transport Ltd., Clanlode Transport Ltd.,
Elfast Transport Ltd., Elvadon Transport -Ltd., Glencarrier Transport Ltd., Glen East Transport Ltd., Glenfax Transport Glenlode Transport. Ltd., Clenwest Transport Ltd., Gordon Transport Ltd. and Locost Transport Ltd. were the new companies, and they Would all operate from the Oldbury company's depot.

.D IBBLE MOTOR SERVICES LTD. 11 was granted dispensation for eight weeks after the North Western Traffic Commissioners had heard an application by the company to vary its stage carriage services between Freckleton and Blackpool last week. The case, which was part-heard, was opposed by Lytham Corporation, and Mr. J. Booth, for the objector, said that negotiations had been 'going on to See if a joint service could be operated between Ribble and the Corporation, but so Car nothing had been agreed. The-Chairman, Maj.-Gen. A. F. J. Elmslie, granted dispensation for the Higher Balham-Green Drive section of the service. At the end of two months the situation would be reviewed and it would be seen how the negotiations between Ribble and Lytham Corporation were proceeding.
