EXAMPLES of the new Paxit Major Mark II self-packing refuse collector are already in service abroad, and the assembly line for this class of vehicle is being employed to the limit of availability of materials and skilled labour. This is stated by Mr. D. J. Grimes, chairman of Dennis Bros., Ltd., in his annual report.

Bulk-load carriers featured prominently in the company's business, This type of vehicle was based chiefly on the Pax chassis, which had sold in increasing numbers.

Firm orders placed for Loline chassis, made under licence to the design of Bristol Commercial Vehicles, Ltd., had proved encouraging. Production for independent bus operators would begin early next year.

Mr. Grimes reported lower home and export sales for the past year.

TRIBUNAL'S VIEWS SOUGHT THE Western Licensing Aighority said on Tuesday that he would welcome the Transport Tribunal's views on the substitution of A-licence for special A-licence vehicles. He refused an application by S. Ball and Son (Transport), Ltd., Chipping Sodbury, for an A licence for a vehicle weighing 3 tons 1 cwt. Applicants said that they would give up a special A licence for four vehicles aggregating the same weight.

Mr. T. D. Corpe, for Ball, said that they were operators of 17 special Alicence lorries, a clearing house and selling agents for ex-British Road Services vehicles.

Mr. R. Mercer, for the British Transport Commission, said that the four vehicles to be deleted had not been used, and the application should be regarded as being for an additional vehicle.

" RAISE LIMIT WITHOUT WAGE AGREEMENT"

THE Minister of Transport should raise the 20 m.p.h. limit irrespective of prior agreement on wage problems. This was urged at a meeting of the committee of the Southampton Area of the Traders' Road Transport Association.

A sub-committee was appointed to tackle dock delays, A member complained that although he allowed an average of three hours' delay to his vehicles at the docks, last year 720 hours were lost in excess of this margin.
