III Specialised kit that's ready to go to work is in massive demand at auction, says Duncan Ward, business development manager for commercial vehicles at British Car Auctions.
"Buyers are very active when it comes to bidding for skiploaders, car transporters, recovery vehicles, and tankers," he adds. "They're also anxious to acquire trucks fitted with cranes—especially big-capacity cranes.
"Examples with low usage are fiercely competed for and the price guide seems to be forgotten on occasions. Recently we saw a 1992 ERE EC6 equipped with a powerful Ranger crane sell for £10,200. Without the crane the truck would only have fetched £2,000."
