In a speech to the recent World Fuel Conference in Brussels .ars-Giran Moberg, head of Volvo Powertrain Corporation, said: To reach the high environmental potential of the diesel engine and lave the maximum environmental benefits of investments, the idustry needs clearer and earlier regulations from the legal luthorities involved.

"There is a risk that too short lead times can force immature echnical solutions to the market—we have that unclear situation iurrently on the EU Directive for Euro-4," he added.

Moberg also called for global harmonisation on fuel quality, and lobal avallabillty of high quality fuel.
