Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NEW DAF lorry scheme designed to give would-be purchasers :ornprehensive safeguards and value for money is it is claimed, the esult of considerable planning and research aimed at closely idenifying the needs of operators who plan to buy second-hand comnercial vehicles.

Called Sterling DAF Trucks, he scheme is to be operated by he company's dealers hroughout Britain and guarintees that vehicles used carryrig DAF's seals of approval have leen put through a 10,000km iervice immediately prior to purJlase and have been checked by 'reight Transport Association nspectors. These last two feaures, says the company, makes he scheme unique in the indusry.

Before a vehicle is sold, new fan belts are also installed, and windscreen wiper blades, hoses, clips and brake linings are checked and renewed unless fully serviceable.

The vehicles must also reach what DAF refers to as a generally "sound commercial standard". This means, among other things, that the cab must be free from significant accident damage and bodywork, equipment and other attachments not originally supplied by DAF will be ckeckeci as far as practicable to ensure they are in fit working order.

The programme is to be applied to vehicles up to four years old or having completed up to 200,000 miles, and for those vehicles which receive the DAF seal of approval, a warranty insurance scheme gives operators cover against labour and materials in either rectifying or replacing components from the first day of purchase.

Membership of DAFaid, the British driver-aid service and of ITS, its European equivalent, is automatic for any operator buying a vehicle under the new scheme.
