THE PROGRAMME for the RHA Tipping Convention—July 4/5 at Harrogate—has been finalised by the organising committee.

Mr N. Hayes, a leading member of the Dutch Road Haulage Association, will address the delegates on the opening day on tipping operations in Holland. This will be followed by an after-luncheon address by the chairman of the British Road Federation, Mr A. de Boer.

The Friday afternoon session takes the form of a discussion on the design and construction of tipping vehicle's, between the delegates and a panel consisting of: Dr A. Jebb, of Imperial College, London; Mr W. H. Cunnington and Mr K. Spencer, both of the RHA; Mr D. Broome, SMMT; and journalist J. Dickson-Simpson.

Saturday morning will be de

voted entirely to weighing problems. The first part of this session takes place on the exhibition site and comprises a series of demonstrations on the practical problems of overloading tipping vehicles. The latter part of the morning is to be a discussion on these weighing problems.

The Saturday session panel will include Mr J. Lawton, a Manchester lawyer with road traffic court experience; Dr A. Je'bb; a DOE official; and lain Sherriff, CM's Deputy Editor, who will also chair the Friday panel.

In the exhibition hall more than 40 exhibitors will have 120 vehicles on show and, in addition, there will be equipment displays.

The organisers anticipate that more than 300 delegates will be in attendance with another 1,200 at the exhibition.
