24 March its depots were being closed and third-party assets removed staff have been made redundant.
Lisa Maxon from Unity Corporate Recovery says its too early to say how much the company owes a date has yet to be set for the creditors meeting, But she stresses that closure was the only option: "After reviewing the company's position it wasn't viable to sell it as a going concern."
A letter is now to be sent to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) about the company's conduct. The DTI will decide if the directors are guilty of any misconduct; if so, they could be banned from being directors of another company.
One former employee, who left Ken Abram Ltd a year ago to set up his own firm, reports that since the company shut down his office has been like "a job centre... all the boys have been down here looking for work".
He says he has heard many stories, but is still unsure what went wrong. Regardless of its cause. he adds that the closure came as a shock.
One of Ken Abram Ltd's few subcontractors. Quinton O'Kane, who runs a one-vehicle firm in Manchester, says he is not owed any money: "I was just told there was no more work for me. I'm curious to f ind more out."
