The move means that West Pennine, based in Middleton, Manchester, now covers an area from Greater Manchester as far south as Stafford and west into mid-Wales.

The former Knighton depots—at Knighton, in Powys, and aswestry. Shropshire—are now trading under the name of their new owner, and bring to six the number of sites operated by West Pennine Trucks. The others are based at Middleton and Trafford Park in Manchester and at Stoke-onTrent and Telford.

"The acqiisition has come about through the decision of Roy Edwards, owner and managing director of Knighton Trucks, to retire from the day-to-day running of the business," says Nigel 13irkmyre, the managing director of West Pennine Trucks, "I'm especially delighted that Roy will continue to play a role in the company by actively working on the buying and selling of used vehicles," he concludes.
