• Ma.PI.In. of Torino, Italy, has developed a dynamic wrench for truck wheels which is capable of exerting up to 550Nm 410Ibft) tightening torque or 1,000Nm (7501bfit 1 when slackening wheel nuts.
The wrench comprises a force multiplier unit with a two-way ratchet winder and extending arm.
This incorporates a square drive to accept a standard wheel-nut socket, with a lever arm to lever against the adjacent nut while slackening a wheelnut.
A special adaptor arm is added for wheels fitted with hub rings. Tyre-Mate retails in Italy for £128.
