Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

m The new TG range could be "the truck you can't buy" in Britain, according to UK marketing director Alistair Williamson. ''We know from experience that 60% of deals are contract hire." he explains "We've been thinking we may not even put a price on it: you can use it, but you can't own it." Also under consideration is a proposal to build in a three-year repair and maintenance warranty as standard (two years is the current standard). "There will be a delete option on that", says Williamson, "but I don't think many people will take it. The truck really needs to be serviced by a dealer--customers won't generally have the kit for it."

Product marketing manager Michael teeming adds: "We will guarantee residuals. The purchase price rises 3-4°i) [compared with the 12000] but the residuals go up 100-0. The package isn't just the truck—it's everything from the hardware and financing to the servicing and residuals."

MAN isn't saying how many TGs it hopes to sell in the UK, but it is taking right-hand-drive orders for July production with delivery from August. It will be able to offer 6x2s as well as 4x2s. The three-axle tractor has a mid-lift, non-steering "pusher" axle from Hendrickson, but with MAR wheel ends and the factory's own EBS discs. It has an automatic. weight dependent raise/lower mechanism with an air dump for extra fraction. Although early 6x2s have been converted by Hendrickson in the UK, future models will be factory fitted.
