Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Nearly a year has passed since the law required speed limiters to be fitted to all trucks built after 1988. Although I am all for safer trucks. I do not think speed limiters are the answer I have been driving Class I for nine years and I have never felt as vulnerable as I have in the past 10 months.

Sitting in a bunch of five or six trucks all too close together is not my idea of road safety and I am sure the majority of drivers have had hairy moments recently How many times have you been in the middle lane for 10 minutes trying to overtake and then seen the milemarker for your junction?

We all need that bit more for overtaking and getting out of traffic occasionally Would it not make more sense to set limiters at 63 or 65mph? I am sure even the most cautious driver will tell you he has jumped over the 60 mark now and again to get away from traffic,

Through the power of Commercial Motor I am urging all drivers to make the poor safety factor of these limiters known to MPs. M Norton Shotts, Lanarkshire
