Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BIRMINGHAM University's Accident Research Unit has completed a pilot study in the Birmingham area on the effects of toughened windscreen breakage. It is to begin a nationwide survey next month.

National Windscreens of Tamworth, Staffordshire is co-operating with the university by providing information on screen replacement.

The Accident Research Unit's investigation follows warnings that serious eye damage may be caused when toughened windscreens disintegrate as a result of stone impact.

Laminated windscreens are now mandatory in new vehicles in some other countries, including France, and there is some demand for similar legislation in this country.
