I IAULIER HAROLD Read 11-ansport. based in Longhope, Gloucestershire, has decided to sell nine of its trucks, leaving it with just three. in a bid to ride out the economic downturn.
In October. Roadtransport.com reported that Harold Read was making 12 staff redundant as it struggled to find work in the scrap metal market. It was also taking nine of its 12 trucks off the road.
Partner Adrian Read, son of Harold. says: "We've now decided to sell those nine vehicles, leaving us with just three trucks. My brother and his son drive for the company, and we have one other driver we can call upon."
He adds: "There isn't enough work in the scrap metal market."
