CF Service md resigns CRANE FRUEHAUF subsidiary managing director Basil Day has resigned after "differing views" on the future of the company had been expressed.

Mr Day ā€” one of the main architects of the recent Pengco takeover ā€” has been with Crane Fruehauf for 22 years and was managing director of Crane Fruehauf Service and Equipment Ltd and Imperial Coachbuilders Ltd.

He had been a member of the Crane Fruehauf board since 1965 following a series of top management posts which he had held since the late 1950s.

North Western BRS driver Peter Cook is off to the Middle East to teach dock workers to drive container handling equipment. Mr Cook flies out to Lattakia, Syria, but this will not be his first trip on a training assignment. Last month hg went to the Turkish port of Iskenderun to teach local men to drive a side loader.

Ryder Truck Rental has appointed Russell Lawrence as branch manager of its new Enfield depot. At the same time Geoff Wild of Burnley becomes rental manager in the Manchester district and Terry Hannington and David Dawson become transport consultants.

Roy Lancaster is to be the new Burnley manager running the depot with Jim Walker. Rory Sheehan takes over at Bristol and Oliver Silver mov to Birmingham as manager.
